The House of Commons has approved a same-sex marriage bill!This looks excellent. The article claims that this is the hard part and that it's past. Apparently, the bill has to go through the House of Lords, but that won't be as difficult for . . . reasons? I'm not sure. But the Prime Minister looks all set to sign it (does he have to sign it?) I should also note that at least Maryland and Maine have actually voted same-sex marriage into law. Washington State had a similar ballot measure, and they're still counting up those votes, but at the moment, it looks like it's going to squeak by as well. Last year, round about this time, the great state of Maryland was contemplating recognizing out-of-state same-sex marriages. That seems to have worked out pretty well for them. For an encore, they're now considering making their own.

Go Maryland! Woo-hoooo!!!

This is awesome on so many levels. Same-sex couples who don't live in states that allow same-sex marriage can get married over the internet. How cool is that?
